Dear Student see the below message from ISSO. If you are an international
student, we encourage you to return to the *US before January 20th, 2025*
Dear fellow members of the Columbia community:
As we approach winter recess, we are sharing important information about
the University’s international travel resources and policies. Please read
this email carefully if you plan to travel outside the United States over
the break.
All travelers on international Columbia-related travel are required to
register their travel through the Register a Trip
<https://globaltravel.columbia.edu/content/isos-mytrips> tool on the
University’s Global Travel <http://globaltravel.columbia.edu/> website.
Registering trips ahead of time enables the University to mobilize more
quickly and effectively in response to your needs and in the event of an
emergency.
The University’s International Travel Planning Policy
<https://universitypolicies.columbia.edu/content/international-travel-planning-policy>
includes additional pre-departure requirements, so please review it
closely as you plan your trip. Please note that the Policy also covers
instances of travel to one’s home country if conducting Columbia-related
activity while there.
We also encourage you to browse through other related topics, including travel
tips
<https://globaltravel.columbia.edu/content/international-travel-tips-non-immigrant-visa-holders>
for non-immigrant visa holders, at our Global Travel
<http://globaltravel.columbia.edu/> website. You will find information
about travel alerts, logistics, and other resources for international
travelers, including the many services
<https://globaltravel.columbia.edu/content/what-international-sos-isos>
available
when traveling for University-related business as well as for leisure.
Full-time students are also eligible for pre-travel health appointments at
the CUIMC
<http://www.cumc.columbia.edu/student-health/medical-services/travel-services>
and Morningside and Manhattanville
<https://www.health.columbia.edu/services/travel-medicine> campuses.
With the spring semester scheduled to begin on January 21, 2025, we
encourage international travelers to return back to Columbia’s campus in
advance of this semester's start date to avoid any potential travel
delays. Our International Students and Scholars Office
<https://isso.columbia.edu/> (ISSO) will continue to closely monitor
immigration policy and guidance and promptly share relevant announcements
and updates as they become available. We urge our international students
and scholars to stay up to date on guidance via the ISSO website
<https://isso.columbia.edu/content/news-highlights>, and to actively
monitor updates from the U.S.Department of State
