Hi all, EE has an upcoming seminar on 9/25, 11:30 am at EE conference room.
See below:

*Speaker: **Larry O’Gorman, Nokia Bell Labs, Murray Hill, NJ USA*

*Title: **Art by Humans and Machines*

*Date & Time: Sept. 25, 11:30 am – 1:00 pm*

*Location:* *EE Conference Room, Mudd 1300*

*Host*: Debasis Mitra

*Abstract:* We describe how technology has contributed to the creation of
visual art from the time of Experiments in Art and Technology (E.A.T.) in
the 1960s to today’s era of generative AI. Over this period, the artist’s
role has evolved from solitary creator to orchestrator of immersive viewer
experiences to one where the “brushwork” has been ceded to AI. Examples of
artists’ works will help us explore the question: whose creation is this –
human or machine?

*Bio:* Larry O'Gorman is a Fellow at Nokia Bell Labs Research in Murray
Hill, NJ. His current work areas include efficient AI and multimedia
analytics. He has also taught multimedia security at Cooper Union and New
York University.

He has collaborated on the creation of several interactive artworks
including, *Brooklyn Blooms* with NYU at the World Science Festival, 2013;

Alight!* with Stevens Institute of Technology, 2015; and *Omnia Per Omnia* with
